Review of Walgreens Wall-Art Panel

I received my 5x7 Wall-Art Panel from Walgreens last week. I received this free as a gift from Walgreens. The panel is about 3/16" thick would painted black. Your photo is attached in some way and coated with a UV resistant scratch free glossy finish. I must say that I am impressed with the workmanship. There are no bubbles, no peeling edges, and the image looks great. The panel has an easel back (as does the 8x10 version). Larger versions have a keyhole hanger on the back. The panel looks good and I can recommend it for your photos.

Walgreens 5x5 Photo Cards Review

Walgreens has added a 5" square photo card to it's selection of photo printing options. The cards are sold starting in groups of 20. They come with 20 envelopes. I recently had the opportunity to get 20 cards for free. Here are my impressions.

1) The quality of print is very good. The photos are printed on card stock.

2) You are able to select from various templates, including a single photo. Templates range from thankyou, birthday, wedding, graduation to one single photo. I chose the single photo with no text for the front.

3) You can add a small photo and text on the back. Cool. You could print your message, address, phone number, etc. on back. My cards look equally good - front and back. On the back, you do get a small "Walgreens" logo centered at the bottom. It is small enough not to be a problem.

4) The envelopes fit the cards and are plain white, fairly thin paper, but sufficient.

I printed one of my photos with my name and address on back. I will use as an advertisement for my photography. Overall I am please with the quality. The delivery took a little over a week using the standard US mail option.

Twenty cards would normally cost approximately $30. This seems a little pricy, but the ability to personalize a card and have it professionally printed may appeal to some at this price.

Review of Walgreens Classic Hardcover Photobook

Christmas is coming. My mom wanted some pictures of her flowers from her garden. I could just give here prints, but thought a photobook would be a nice gift. I got a good deal on a classic photobook from Walgreens, so I thought I'd give it a try. Uploading the photos is easy and the same as for any book. The classic is only offered with the window in the cover. This is not a feature I like, but you have no choice. I chose a black cover and an olive theme. I added the photos, previewed the book, and placed the order. I received the book in about a week. The book is well made. The cloth cover looks very nice and the gluing very professional. The pages are not as heavy as I would like, but they are pretty substantial. The photographs look good. The colors are very close to what I saw on the screen. I only had 15 pages. Even so, the book feels good and looks very professional. Overall, I am pleased and would not hesitate to purchase on again.

Moo postcards, Walgreens postcards, oh my.

I was so impressed with the moo business cards that I wanted to see what the postcards were like. So I went back to the moo site and set out to order some postcards. The first thing I noticed is that even though I had uploaded 50 images for the business cards, the images did not exist in a common place where I could pick and choose images to make postcards from. Every other photo site that sells photo products that I'm aware of does this. I sent an email to moo support and there is a way to do it, but it isn't easy or intuitive. I find this to be a big issue for moo. Anyway, I finally got my images selected. You are able to have a blank back, or you can add some text. What would be nice is the ability to have an image on back of the card as well - then you could put you info/logo on the back of each card.

I received the cards in about a week, and like the business cards, they are beautiful. Instead of the matte silky finish, you get a glossy finish. It still works well, but I love the silky matte finish of the business cards. Maybe they'll give us that option soon. They are made of heavyweight paper, very substantial.

I also ordered a few postcards from Walgreens. The cards cost about the same. Walgreens cards are printed on a lighter weight stock with a glossy finish. Adequate but not as impressive as the moo cards.

Review of Walgreens Premium Photo Paper Glossy 4 x 6 in.

I purchased some of the Walgreen's Premium Photo Paper in the 4 x 6" save to save a couple of bucks over the better known brands like Kodak and Epson. I printed some photos on my HP Photosmart D5460. When the print comes out, it does seem to curl a bit, but after drying it laid flat. The weight (thickness) of the paper in very thin. It feels cheap and fragile in your hand. For a photo album the print will probably be OK. For handing to several people to view, it may not stand-up to the task. The rendering of the print was very good. The thinness of the paper is the only negative I found.
