Went to Johnson Lake at lunch time today. The sun was bright and the dragonflies were flying. I have only seen 3-4 varieties of dragonflies at the lake and this is the most common one I think. Dragonflies are very territorial, so if they fly off after another dragonfly, be patient, they will probably come back to the same spot or very close to it. It was very warm, but not so humid. I also noted there were no Great Egrets like last year. Maybe because of the rain they have not come so far inland this year.
